psu problem?

Been having a few probs over the last few days with bsod's and restarts which are driving me nuts.

Starts as soon as i boot into windows(onto desktop),and keeps restarting on reload at blue bar windows loading screen. This happens until you click on last known good configuration then it boots up fine!

Anyhow having checked everything over(mem, gfx etc),I was wondering if it would maybe be my psu?

Its a 600w xcleo quad rail psu,and its powering a 6300 c2d,2gig ddr2,p5b deluxe,and a 8800 gts 640mb(all at stock atm)

I was wondering if it was a psu problem,as i noticed my 3.3v rail(in bios) shows at 3.232v(is that normal or a bit low?)

The 5v rail is at 5.120v and 12v is at 12.196v

Does all that seem normal or am i clutchin at straws?

Those voltages appear to be acceptable but you need to monitor them over a period of time when the system is on full load. You can use motherboard board monitor or even better, since you have an Asus, us Asus probe to give you voltage legends.

It might be worth reading my PSU guide here.

Huddy's Guide to checking your PSU

THere are some trouble shooting step which may help you to eliminate the PSU.

How did you check the memory?

Cheers Admiral Huddy :)

I've checked my memory by booting with one stick at a time, which seems fine.

I've also ran prime 95 blend torture test for a few hours and its passed everything

This thing has got me stumped? It's ran perfect for the last 7 months at 2.8ghz and now this!

Took 5 attempts to boot into windows this morning(bsod and restarts :(

Ok, you need to completely eliminate the memory.

Download and run memtest86+ . Run it for half an hour or so and see what it comes back with.

Make sure the memory has the correct voltage as recommeded by the manufacturers.

If memtest86+ comes back with errors, then you have faulty RAM. Otherwise, post back.

Sorry for posting back without any results, but how do i get memtest to run :(

The only way i could see how to do it was i mounted the iso in alchol, which didnt seem to work?I think a set of moron friendly instuctions are needed :)

Havnt got any blank disks, thats why i did it that way

Also tried runing prime blend again....!st run failed pretty much straight away

gave me a msg ...Fatal error, rounding was 0.5,expected les than 0.4. Hardware failiure detected, consult stress txt file.Torture test ran 0 mins 1 error 0 warning
execution halted.

Ran it again straight after, and it lasted 49 mins

I take it this isn't good?

Right finally managed to get memtest up and running (lol)

Ran it for 1 hour and it gave me no errors and two passes before i exited.

This problem is driving me nuts, any more help utterly appriciated :)
