PSU problem?

Hey guys, I was just playing on my computer when I heard a fizz sound like something shorting out, and the computer died. I assumed it was a powercut or something, but pressing the reset and power buttons does nothing. Any way I'm guessing that my next port of call is to buy a new PSU and test that out. Does anyone know of any PSUs that'd be suitable for my rig.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 160GB ST3160811AS SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775) £0.00 1
Antec NSK6500 Super Midi Tower Case - 430W PSU

As you can see all of this was running on the 430W PSU that came with the case.

Also is there any chance that it could simply be a blown fuse in the power cable?

Thanks in advance

If you don't mind cables, then the Corsair TX 650W (here. If you do, then HX 520W.

But must say 430W should be enough for that rig. Maybe you we're just unlucky. Remember not all PSUs are indestructible, just that good ones die without taking anything else with them :)

awesome, cheers for that, I've heard a lot of good things about Corsair PSUs. Do the syptoms definetly point to my PSU? I really hope the rest of my rig's ok
'Fizz sound' & PC doesn't power-up sounds PSU related. Have you tried changing the fuse & or kettle lead?
