PSU problem?

Hey guys.

Something weird is going on and I though maybe you could help.

Swapped my PC into a new case recently along with a new Ocz 600w PSU.

I also installed a new hard drive.

Since then, everything seems to be working except when I load WOW, Windows crashes. And I mean instant freeze, no BSOD or anything.

Have reinstalled Windows along with WOW and it has made no difference.

Am I right in assume that the PSU is the main suspect after this?

Strange thing is, I have run Prime95 and 3dmark to try and stress it and they both work fine.

Any suggestions?

One more thing. Is there any particular way round the GPU power cables from the PSU should go? What I mean is, one is 8 pin with a cut out to use with 6 pin cards and the other is 6 pin. My GTX260 needs both, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas if one should go before the other?

Thanks.

yeah, i had simmilar issues with the same model. It is one of two things:

1. the PSU isn't powerful to run the computer - get a more powerful PSU

2. Faulty PSU, RMA it.

as for the cards, the card should have a 6 pin port at its back to plug into the PSU, this is usually an 8 pin on modular PSU's like this one. In your case its a 8 pin (psu side) to 6 pin. Also use the8 pin to 8pin connector for the gfix power slot on your mobo.

Thanks for that. I would have thought that the PSU could handle a Q8200, GTX260 and 3 hard drives though?

As for this:

I'm sorry, but I am not sure what you are saying?

is it only the one game that has this issue?

as for your 6+2pin and 6pin pci-e connector, it doesn't matter which way you plug them in.

your psu is more than enough.

Yep, so far only Wow has a problem.

Also, I did switch from IDE to AHCI mode, but that was before I reinstalled Windows, so I can't see that being a problem?
