I have an Enermax 500W PSU which is about 4 years old now.
My set up is Asus M4A79XTD, AMD Phenom 955, 4GB DDR3, ATI 5770 1 DVD drive, 3 HDDs and a Soundblaster XFI.
Problems started a few months ago. My WD Caviar Black was failing it seemed and I RMA'd it which was fine. Things seemed ok, but then the PC started to hang the odd time and I'd hear the HDD click. Finally ended up RMAing the WD replacement due to bad blocks.
Moving onto now and a different HDD does the odd click now but no bad sectors on the drive. The PC only really boot successfully with one HDD plugged in and sometimes it doesn't detect it either, also had it hang twice today and had to restart.
Does this sound like a PSU problem? I've heard about capacitors degrading over time. Also ran Memtest overnight with no errors detected and I doubt this is the 3rd HDD failing within the space of 2 months.
