I used to own a Hiper Type-R 580W PSU which worked fine for a couple of years until I got a new system in January. With my new system I always had problems with the network card not working properly. When I say network card problems: I boot into windows, it says that the drivers for the network card are not installed, I restart and it works fine - and this is every time I turn the computer on.

Anyways in May the computer had power problems, and the PSU finally blew up, with a spark. For the month or so before it blew up I could hear the PSU buzzing when the machine was turned off.

I got myself a Thermaltake Toughpower 750W, and got my system working again. This time with no network card problems, so I guessed that the network card problems were being caused by my old PSU. However, this week I have noticed that I'm having the network card problems again, and my PSU is buzzing!

I have no idea what could be causing these problems, does anyone have any ideas? Plus, what PSUs would you recommend?

ToughPower is good PSU so sounds like there might be something which damages PSUs.
Is PC connected to grounded outlet?

Have you noticed any power problem and do you have any surge protector or UPS?

I am using a grounded power outlet, but with no surge protector or UPS. I have not noticed any power problems on any other appliance in my household.

Yeah, I have noticed that my Samsung drive makes weird noises sometimes, and freeezes for a few seconds when going to read something. It's very odd!
