coolermaster hyper 612s psu cooler
i bought a powercool 650 w powersupply it lasted 8 months
i upgraded to the above 3 weeks ago and gone through 3 power supplys of the same brand any ideas would be welcome plz am i unlucky or could it be something else causing it have been advised to not go for powercool psu s

do u think its the psu then or something else i have about 60 to spend whats the best you think i can get ive been told coolermaster ocz or corsair

I would avoid Powercool PSU's like the plague when running even half decent hardware off of them. (i would say that your hardware is better than half decent :p)

Though I must say it seems strange to go through three in 8 months. (unless I misunderstood what you said, and one lasted 8 months?) in which case, that is about what I would expect.

i've used some very cheap psu units in my time and always had good luck with them, seems you have just had bad luck, or dirt power etc, check you plugs and wall plugs as well before you get a new good brand psu as you don't want to find out it wasn't the cheaper ones in the first place, a good surge block is also worth the money if you don't already use one

yes got a surge protector the original psu lasted 8 months and since my board and chip ugrade ive gone throught 3 in 4 weeks any sugestions on good psu

gone for make, just look for the size your after

1 x Seasonic M12II 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply £89.99
1 x XFX Pro 650W Core Edition '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £69.98
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 600w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020060-UK) £62.99

Modular makes for tidy cabling, but you can if your tidy and don't have the smallest of case do without, i've never used one, and are very tidy inside my full tower case :)

there's plenty of others tbh, just a good brand like these are the common ones
