Been debating over which Be Quiet PSU to get for my i7 build while waiting for bits to pop up on this week/weekend only.

You guys think a 650w is enough for a build with i7 D0 hoping to get 4 gig (maybe 4.2) 6 gig dd3 corsair dominator, gigabyte ex58-ud5 m/b, 2x ocz 30gb vertex, 1tb Samsung spinpoint and lg blue ray writer or will I be safer going for the 750w version when they come back into stock?

Cheers for your input.

It'll be fine, unless you intend on running an 4870X2/GTX295 (which it would run, but it would be running near to it's limits)

I'm putting an i7 build together for a friend on this thread and i only intend on using the 650w Be Quiet, if that's any help.

Edit: but now Happy has made me a bit nervous as i'm installing a 295 into the rig :)

Oops totally forgot about the graphics card, the plan is to wait for the next gen dx11 ATI card (which by the looks of recent price drops can't be far off being announced) and will be running my old 8800gtx in the meantime - but obviously want the spare capacity to add an x2 style card - looking like the 750w is the safer bet then.

Ok, i am decidedly nervous now.

Does the 295 really suck that much extra juice to warrant a 750w? (Soz, Popov i hope this is relevent to your original query?)

Any doubt and i will up his to a 750w version.

I only say that, because he's looking for a monster clock on the i7. A 650W should be fine though.

If you're looking at an x2 type gfx card in the future, I'd say play it safe and go for the 750W. Can't hurt and cheaper than having to buy a new one to replace your nearly new one when you get the gfx.
