My current system is an AMD 3800x2, Asus A8N-SLi Premium and 2Gb Crucial Ballistix PC4000 Ram.

Would the current PSU I have running that work with a Core2Duo motherboard/system?

Thank you :)

It depends what it is. If it's a cheapo 350W that came with the system as a prebuild or with the case then it might run it, but to be on the safe side (ie make sure you don't lose a few hundred £'s worth of kit) buy a large reputable PSU. :)

Thanks for the quick replies :)

Its an Antec Sonata II case and its the PSU from that case (450W Smart Power PSU). Im not going for SLi/Crossfire. Will it need a 24 pin to 20 pin?

Thank you :)

Edit: E6300, 2Gb Geil PC6400/Corsair Dominator PC6400 (haven't decided yet) and DS3.

That should be fine for that setup (think it even consumes less than your current one) :)

New mobos are 24-pin.

I use the 24 pin and also the 4 pin, as hp7907 said all new motherboards are 24 pin :) good luck with the new rig :D
