Hey,

Quick question, I was thinking of upgrading the graphics card in my current rig to a GTX260 but I'm not sure if the PSU is powerful enough, specs below.

PSU: Enermax Liberty 500w
MOBO: Gigabyte DS3
CPU: e6300 @ 2.5ghz
Ram: 2gig Geil
HD:750gig Samsung spinpoint
500gig Seagate Barracuda
GPU:256mg X1800xt

Whats the thoughts?

Thanks for the replies guys, I was mainly asking as most of the gpu companies seem to claim 500w minimum for the standard GTX260 and 550w for overclocked versions.

Do you think the enermax would be up to OC'd versions or should I limit it to the standard?

Edit: Oh and incase it makes a difference I've been looking at the 216 versions not the 192s

PSU recommendations from manufacturers are very exaggerated as they have to consider all eventualities.
The average user will have a mainstream CPU with 1 or 2 HDDs and an optical drive, but the manufacturer can't assume that. They have to take into account people with ludicrous load already on the PSU.
