I've ordered most of my components for a new system., but I still haven't ordered the psu. The graphics card I will be using is a GTX 275 which I think (sorry, first time build) uses two 6 pins.

I was hoping to buy a reduced Seasonic M12D 850w which states that the
connectors are of a 6+2 pin modular type. As a result, I was wondering if I might have any compatibility problems. I'm pretty sure I must be misunderstanding something, so could someone please explain it to me?

In addition, I was looking at the Bequiet 750w PSU which stated that the plugs for the fans means that they are all temperature controlled. Is this fairly standard on PSUs?

I'm thinking that if you only need the six pin, then you just use that, but the extra two pins are there if you need it? I'm also guessing that the possibility of temperature controlled case fans on the Bequiet is unusual?

temp controlled fans depends on the manufacturer from what i've seen.

the 6+2 pins is suitable for 6 pin graphics cards or those that require 8 pin, so it will be fine for what you need.
