Hi guys,
I'm wanting a new PSU for my media centre.

My current Mythbox is a E7400, Asus PQ5L-E, Gainward Nvidia 9500 (passive cooling) 2G ram and two Nova-T cards, and about to add a third TV card (a Nova-S), 3xNoctura case fans, 1x500Gb hdd and 1x1Tb hdd.

Will a 400w PSU be enough? I'm thinking that it probably will be, but I'm wanting a second opinion.

The PSU I'm looking for needs to be quiet, however what is the difference between Akasa AK-P040FG8-BKUK 400W Green Power 80+ Power Supply and Akasa Ultra Quiet 400W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.2 Power Supply - Black Nickel?

I know one is supposed to be better efficiency while the other other is supposed to be quieter, but really, how much difference can there be?

Advice on which to buy would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Efficiency i believe. The first one is newer and more efficient than the other. The first is probably 80-85% efficient while the second is only around 73% efficient according to reviews.

400w is more than enough. You could probably get away with a quality 300w psu for that rig.

Thanks for the PSU suggestions slumatfung. I think both look promising contenders.

Patsymuncher, I hadn't thought of 300w psus. I'll look into those also. Thanks.

I'll post back with my decision. Of the two slumatfung suggests, I'm leaning towards the Corsair, as I've got a 620W one in my main rig and I like it.

Thanks guys
