PSU question

Intel E8500 clocked at 4 gig , 8 gig ram, p5k premium, one dvd rom, 3 hard drives, a gtx260 oc, xfi and 4 case fans. Will a Hiper 580w psu be enough to run this system ok ... cheers

That system should be fine with a good quality 580W PSU. However, Hiper havn't got the best record with their 580W supplies. Have a look at this thread.

Personally, I would swap it out for something by Corsair, Antec or Seasonic.

Cheers for reply. The said hiper psu ran perfect in system with a 8800GT, and psu swapped for 700w unit, however, the fan in 700w psu, is noisier than a xbox360, and the hiper was silent, and im aware of cerain hiper issues, Main question really should be, is the hiper enough for the gtx260 with the rest of the rig ?. Thanks.

If you are confident in your PSU, then yes it should be fine. Tbh, for that system a 450W should be enough, the 580W gives you some nice headroom and hopefully higher efficiency.
