Hey guys sorry if this is the wrong thread but i couldnt find a forum dedicated to psu enquiries. Ive recently moved my system over to an Antec 902 so my Coolmaster Real Power M700 is now sitting in the base of the case. However due to the psu being in the bottom my cable management wasnt as good as id hoped as half a dozen of the connectors i couldnt hide and bring out of the side panel holes close to where they go in, as they are too short. My question is..can i turn my psu round so that the fan will be facing the bottom of the case? This will give me another say inch and a half 2 inches which will mean i can hide a lot more of my cables in the side panel. Im thinking the psu fan will be sucking air from the case and exhausting it out the back of the case so as ive got fairly good airflow in my case anyway is that right and a safe thing to be doing?
Thanks.

After checking a few pictures I see what you mean. I don't see it being a problem providing there is a stand-off under the PSU which in the case of the 902, there doesn't appear to be. You will have to create your own hole at the bottom to allow adequate air flow through the PSU, which do get quite hot.

Yea there are some rubber stands that the psu sits on id say theres probably a 4-5 mil gap between the bottom of the case and the psu on the stands. My cables arent too bad but looking at some of the pictures people post on here its looks pretty bad so i want it as good as i can get it. I will turn the psu round and run it for a while and if i crashes il know its overheating. Il switch it over the weekend when i get time and depending on how it looks might even stretch to uploading a piccy. Cheers for the heads up Admiral.

Personally, I wouldn't. I have just had a closer look and the rubber stand offs aren't enough. I wouldn't compromise your PSU for the sake aesthetics. If this is really what you want, then you'll need to cut a hole at the bottom. This is a simple mod providing you have the right tools. Then make sure the case itself is risen from the floor.

hmmm ok. My airflow and temps are good so im only really doing it for the looks. So i think il pass and just have a semi messy case. Kinda frustrating though! maybe il just try again see if i can get it tidier. Thanks again Admiral Huddy for the help.

I wouldnt be bothered about modding my case im sure id enjoy it infact but my case sits on the floor and theres not really a feasible means of elevating it without buying a new desk or making a stand, both of which seem over the top for my case looking nice when i open it once a week to clean my air filters :)
