Ok so im a noob with psu's and not really clued up with them, here is the story... For the past five months iv been fighting with my 5770 vapor-x in my machine trying to rid this damn ATIkmpag.sys BSOD error. Recently the vapor-x went back to the store for some tests as its still under warranty, and aperently they tested my card for 6hours sessions reporting no problems at all. So im like "uugh" because iv tried EVERYTHING :( from testing my ram to testing my cpu with prime 95 and memtest etc to try and see if its a stability problem, but all is fine, i dont overclock. Now im all out of ideas and im thinking that it could be my psu that could be causeing it, as the guy in the shop told me they tested on a lower wattage psu and it was fine.

sorry for the story lol but id thought you may want know my problem.

The question is does this http://www.hipergroup.com/products.php?lv=4&cate=1&type=7&pid=16&action=Specification have enough power to power my 5770 vapor-x. I read that the card needs so many amps off the 12v rails, but im not even sure what that is, can someone help me out?

Hiper PSUs aren't particularly great, in theory it should be enough going by the 12V rail amperage but I'd suggest getting yourself a better brand PSU such as Corsair/OCZ/Antec. If you've ruled out everything else then you may be correct in thinking it's a PSU problem.

What psu would you reccomend for my setup wich is...

AMD Phenom 9850 2.5ghz Quadcore
5770 vapor-x
4 gb g-skill ram

take note i dont overclock and never plan to either, i just game a lot.

The trick is that card eats about 10 amps, so just *branded* PSU with minimum 450W power should be enough. Try OCZ ModXStream 500 - they are good, cheap, modular and really quiet.
