PSU question

Hello everyone,

I have bought 2nd hand PC with modular PSR CS550M corsair, it comes without graphics card so I have bought 280x and than I have realised that the guy didnt send me any PCIe cables, I have a problem now as I dont know what to do. Since new set of new cables is about 70 £, which is price of new PSU, I have already spend my budget on this build and cant really use it without gfx card, therefore I would like to get some advice on cheaper solution. I have found them: No competitors. Please read the forum rules
but i am not sure it they are compatible with my PSU,
My comp is i5 4670k,CS550m,1x128SSd,MSI 280x ->gonna buy new HDD for storage later

Therefore I wonder if that 550W will be enough for all of that and would like you to give me someadvice what should I do.

Hi Raval,

On principle and cost involved, I'd ask the vendor to send you the PCI-E cables, or return the PC. If it was advertised as having a CS550M modular PSU, then it is not complete without its PCI-E cables (and the rest).

Alternatively, if you were warned it was missing cables before purchasing, something like this:

You would need to also find one with an 8-pin PCI-E connector (or 6+2), elsewhere. And you would need to make sure your PSU has four female molex 4-pin connectors available for this purpose. I've seen cables with one molex to 6-pin PCI-E but they are not advisable. Better to have two molex to each PCI-E.

The cable set you found is not compatible with your PSU. Corsair do not make any cable sets for their CS range. http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/power-supply-units/psu-accessories

Question - have you checked the box containing the 280X for any molex type connectors? Some manufacturers include them.
