Righty - looking to upgrade my sisters PC so of course this means a chance to pass hardware around & me to get a sly upgrade :p

I shall give her my old Noisetaker (1.5 yo iirc) so I can adopt a new PSU :>

However I have a Lian Li PC V1000 which won't take modular PSU's without drilling out hdd bays....therefore what I need is:

A PSU with ATX 2.x compatibility
At least 480W of power
QUIET (the irony of typing in caps is immense...)
Pre-Braided cables

recommendations?

I'm not sure about the types of cables but the Antec Phantom 5002 Silent ATX 2.0 @ £100 looks like It will fit the bill quite nicely. I have an Akasa 400w and its near silent, comes with Pre-Braided cables and is ATX 2.0, they also do a 460w version.

I have the non modular tagan 480W model in my current rig. Used two of them recently and they have both been excellent. Relatively quiet when working (not overly loud over my normal fans) and nice solid rails.

The cables are braided and the big chunky ones (ATX power etc) are bound. It has plenty of connectors for devices (molex, sata, pci-e). Also comes with some velcro cable ties in the box for keeping things nice n tidy :)
