PSU Questions (For a friend of mine)

My mate is ordering a nice new pc, He's getting an Antec 900 Case, Conroe bundle, and a 8800GTS 320, and he's looking for PSU's, he's got his eyes set on that 500w Hiper Modular, I told him hiper's suck, but he needs more opinions, he's reluctant to check PSU's, as the Antec 900 sits the PSU at the bottom of the case.

Basically he's looking for a sturdy and stable 500W PSU, and I told him going for a brand name will be best, but imo not a Hiper, Any recommendations? Much Appreciated.
 
When I shut my pc down, sometimes it boots back p, is that some sort of Registry problem? I read somewhere it can be a PSU problem, but my PSU is an Akasa Pax 500w, and i've only had it since January, so i'm hoping it's not that :D

it don't happen all the time, just occasionally, and I end up waiting for it to load, then I shut it down again, 2nd time always works, hehe.

and whilst I'm at it, another question:)

for a while now, whenever I boot my pc up, it does the WinXP loading screen like normal, but instead of taking me straight to my desktop, it takes me to a screen and asks me to click on a profile, y'know like if multiple people are authorised with different user names, but i've never ever defined any other user but myself, and it only ever comes up with one option 0) anyway to remove that? i tried googling, but it didn't find any bugs related to that screen, just how to set different profiles, I've also checked my profile manager thing, it's not even set up :D

Question 1

Have you got a network in your house? You might have wake up on lan turned on or a similar option.

Question 2

Have you tried turning of welcome screen in control panel?
