It is fairly quiet, however the fan in my power supply is rattling. The problem is intermittant - sometimes it can be heard over the fan, but only at low speed, sometimes it can be heard anyway.

im guessing an RMA is the best option?

thanks

edit: it is only a week old

Yeah, RMA that. Sounds like the fan has either a bad bushing or is just generally out of alignment. If it were a few years old I'd tall you to bust it open and replace the fan, but that's not necessary if it's still under warranty. :)

i got my RMA code from ocuk, so i will send it back asap. Should i put a note in the box saying that it is the fan making a noise that is the fault and not the psu completely not working itself? i dont want to have to pay the charge or anything...

Also, i was a bit hasty in throwing away the postage box (i still have the original box for the item), where would be the best place to get one? :D

thanks again.

I assume in the RMA tracking procedure they recorded the problem you were experiencing, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to put a note in there to tell the tech what you experienced. Be sure to note that the problem is intermittent so he doesn't simply plug it in, see that it works quietly, and report it as working.
