PSU recommendation

I want to move my HX620W PSU into my HTPC and get ride of the mass of cabling in it whilst upgrading my main rigs PSU.

I was thinking of going the whole hog and getting a 1000W for a bit of future proofing, even though I do not think my PC needs it right now.

So my question is, should I get either
  • Be Quiet!
  • Corsair HX
  • Coolmaster

They are all roughly the same price, but the Coolmaster does look like it has a nice big fan to cool it :)

Anyone here used or recommend any of these PSU's?

I just got the Seasonic X-750 as fer the recommendations on here...

It was between that and the Corsair HX850.

I must say this Seasonic is silent, i have not even heard the fan spin up yet... And its probably the most efficient PSU on the market.
 
My main thing is it must be modular.

I would like the option to run sli/x-fire at a later date.

I currently run GTX275, oc'd Q9550, 2 HDD's, 1 SSD, pump, 8 x 120mm fans, 2 x 92mm fans, Asus D2X.

Am thinking of dropping 3 of the 120mm fans (they are mounted in front 6 drive bays) in favour of the bottom to top airflow. (3 over the rad at bottom, 2 at top expelling).

More than happy to drop the rating and the HX850 or the Seasonic X-750 seem a good way to go.
 
By the way, I can get the 1000W Coolmaster for only £20 more than the 850W HX, not from here mind ;)
Or £10 more than on here!

Went for 1000w cos I chose a system with xfire and I've already started adding extra drives etc. It's overkill on reflection and the 850w would have run the whole rig with a margin on top as well :)

Furry muff! (fair enough)

I just feel that for £20 more, and some £50 less than on here, I could have a 1000W, so I might as well!
I know PSU's are meant to be most efficient at a certain % of the max rating, so part of me thinks it would be best to go with the 850W to save minor running costs and purchase price.

Coolmaster 1000W £148 inc
Corsair HX 850W £128 inc
 
I meant in the general consensus but thats a fair point Raptor - wasn't aimed directly at you my friend.
I've had a StealthXStream in my i5 and 5850 rig for a few months and its been flawless - even with a few power surges, its stayed on!!! Thats what I call quality :)

It's the competition!!! bad lad !!! found the deal anyway :)

Honestly though... the 850 would do it... the 1000 is a "oh perhaps for £20 more......"
 
like many have said Corsair HX850 - i've just ordered one from a HX620, no problems with the 620 at all.

Highly recommended from me
