Hi Im looking for an upgraded PSU as i believe my current 650W is causing instability issues.

My current rig is as follows.
Xeon X5670 @4.4Ghz
12GB Ram
Radeon R9-280DualX GPU
Corsair HX-650W PSU

I would like to run a GTX 1080TI 6GB card which i have here but it wont run at all in the current setup so im thinking im in need of a new PSU.

Would an 850W suffice for the GTX and the OC'd xeon.?
 
When you say it doesn't run at all in your current setup what exactly do you mean? The pc is dead and won't start or are you just getting a black screen? If it's a black screen then it's more likely to be caused by a gpu/motherboard incompatibility and updating to the latest motherboard bios fixes this in most cases.
