Hi All, I'm in the market for a new Power Supply.

Any recommendations for a reliable Power Supply that is near enough silent?

I'm fairly certain my current Antec (TruPower 550w) has died after only a year, so would like something thats going to last longer. I had a superflower PSU previously, which lasted 3 years, but was very noisy.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated, with money not really an object. Basically looking for a 600W+ option (or enough to support Dual PCI-E gfx, two HDD, one DVD and a core 2 duo setup)

I only have one GFx card currently, but will be upgrading, hence why my current supply was 550w

cheers.

Thanks for swift replies.

Looking at the 1000W option, I'd only go for that if it was guaranteed to last me 5 years. Even then, by that time it may not even have the right connectors and such for whatever setup i'd be using.

Thanks for the suggestions, will most likely go for the 620W as it is more than enough to last me for the next 2-3 years and is under half the price. Thanks!

If you were looking for a bit of future proofing the Antec Quattro 850w has two 8-pin and two 6-pin pci-express connectors. It's relatively cheap compared to the Galaxy at £117.49. There's also the Thermaltake Toughpower Cablemanagement 1000w or 1200w and each has three 8-pin and three 6-pin pci-express connectors. A relative steal at £164.49 and £176.24 respectively ;)

Other good units to look into are the Etasis Gaming Power 750w and 850w which each have four 6-pin pci-express connectors.

the op mentioned that money is no object. in that case go for the enermax galaxy 1000w.
m8 had 2 of them blow and luckily not take his sli'd 8800 gtx's with them.

imo no point paying the money for the 1000w jobs when the 620 is more than enough to do what is planned.

Thanks, While I'm at it i'm going to upgrade the cooler on my processor as the Freezer Pro 7 I have is duff (IMO that is). It runs twice as loud as my mates and doesn't even keep the cpu that cool, i think it either needs lapping or binning.

Again, I want a top end cooler so any suggestions are greatly appreciated, for a range of prices (best value to best full stop)
