PSU requirements for a 7990

I've just bought a 7990 and I'm wondering if my PSU will cope ok with it?

The PSU is an Enermax Infiniti 720w. I'm currently running a 280x with no issues.
The rest of the rig consists of an i5 3570k, 16Gb ram (4x4Gb), 2 SSD's, 2 HDD's and 7 fans.

I was toying with the idea of going to an i7 too.

Should be ok, though you might want a tad more beef for a nice overhead + OC room.

I had a 7990+7970 running fine with an OC'd 2600K on an 850w psu fwiw.

That PSU will be fine i have an Corsair AX750W and it has never had any issues with the spec in my signature.

I don't think I'll need to overclock it tbh. I think the jump from the 280x will keep me happy for a couple of months at least

If I doesn't cope I'll keep running the 280x for a bit and order a new PSU. Plus, I can quite easily get rid of the two mechanical drives as I don't really use them now anyway. They're just full of old pictures and out of date backups.

Lol, now that I recall, you probably won't be pulling much more than 500w anyway

Yeah my power meter has never gone past 600W at the wall so you will be fine.
