PSU requirements for mobo's

HI

I am currently looking for a mobo for my e6400 which will arrive this week, i have noticed a few have 24 pin plus 8 pin power conenctors, now my power supply only has 24 pin plus 4 pin , is there a 4 pin to 8 pin converter or will just plugging the 4 pin into the 8 pin work, or have i now got to start looking for a new PSU which would be a real bummer as i am already short of funds.

I think it will work if you jst plug it in.

It will work with the 4pin connector. Download the pdf manual and check.

did as u suggested and downloaded manual, it recomends 8 pin, but 4 pin is allowed and shows how to connect.
