Hey, i plan to but a XfX 5770 soon and wasnt sure if my psu was creating enough juice for this upgrade.
My Spec:
Intel Q6600 @ 2.4GHz
8GB Ram
9500GT (soon to be a 5770)
850W PSU
[+5v = 38A]
[+3.3v = 30A]
[+12v1 = 24A]
[+12v2 = 24A]
[-12v = 0.5A]
[+5vsb = 2.5A]

Hmm, brand of the PSU?

Should have around ~40A if the psu isn't cheap and nasty. That would be around 400W.

The brand on my psu is Alpha Power, a cheap brand i know. Was looking into buying a Corsair but was not sure what one to go for, a link to a suitable psu would be lovely :D

Get a TX650w and your sorted. I'm using a tx750 and it's overkill for my system, but it's still nice to have. :D

I've also got an old Enermax 425w still working today and powering a Q9550+6700xl. Cost me £60, but just goes to show that buying decent branded PSU's have a lot of life in them.

haha the TX650w was just what i was looking at xD thanks a lot for all your help, love you folks at overclockers... always helpful

A CX400W or VX450W would be more than enough for a Q6600 and an HD5770 1GB.

You failed to notice the OP has 8gb of ram. Quite clearly the OP likes sticking more and more in. Better to suggest something that would have plenty of headroom and won't need replacing.
