Hi folks!

Following on from my other thread about a broken PSU! I got a replacement.

Anyway, I thought it was my 8800GTS, but it is my PSU making a loud whirring sound.

It keeps alternating...One min its not noticeable, then it will speed up, then slow down etc!

I have disconnected the 3pin wire as I thought that might be causing it to change speeds, but nothing, it still does it.

The PSU is a Jeantech Storm 700W
Strange, because the reviews say it is quiet!

It is VERY annoying, I thought it might be because with my Antec 900 cause the PSU is mounted so the fan is facing up(with that case the PSU is at the bottom).
But my friend has the same PSU and says its the same for him.

Can I stop the 'auto temp' sensing? :(

hances are you've got one with a bad fan, it should be picked up at QC in the factory but the chances are one of the ways they make the PSU's cheaply is to cut back on humans in the production line/QC (a machine can test the power output for the PSU, but wouldn't pick up something like a bad fan)

tbh you want it to auto sense so its as quiet as possible whilst still cooling aqeqately, just take the thing back and get it swapped for a new one, its more than likely a dodgy fan
