Well my 4870X2 should come next week so I'm thinking I should order a new PSU now rather than cry next week, plus my cousin wants my 520w so hassle free sale.

Budget £140ish, I'd like 800w+ and it must be modular.

I was looking at the CoolerMaster 850w with 6 x 12v rails, looks impressive. Any others? Worth stretching for the Corsair 1000w? Although the CM has more amps on the 12v rail.

Is it better to have 1 or 2 powerful rails or more less powerful rails?

I dont think 850w would power 2 x 4870X2 if I ever went that root would it?

Thanks

Good psu and i almost bought one myself.

You may want to look at the following as well:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...wer Pro 850W ATX2.2 Modular SLi Compliant PSU

Very good and very quiet but a bit more expensive.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...rmax Galaxy 850W EGX850EWL ATX2.2 Modular PSU

Another good modular psu

Get good reviews and is a good price. You could almost stretch to a 1000W.

Another possibility.

He's the man for psu reviews including ripple and noise up to full load which is just want you want. If you search the news section with the psu name he links to other reputable sites with their reviews when he feels they do a "proper" review, not just plug it and and hey it runs and looks cool so 5 stars!

Also if you ever do go two 4870x2 they will take 500w plus in power under load. Depends on how many hard drives, optical drives, fans, watercooling pumps you have/plan to ever have in your system as to whether you go 800W ish or 1000W.

Think I'm gonna stretch to the Be Quiet, the specs are impressive and its pretty small in size.

Order placed with OcUK, free shipping just swung it for me.
