PSU Straining?

Sometimes the tone/note or whatever the PC makes when running dips, or strains when under load. You can almost hear a power drain, if that makes sense.

Computer works fine, the 400W psu isn't overloaded with carp AGP and single HDD.... I'm thinking its on its way out?

Sound right?





Or I need my hearing tested!

What brand/model is it? Have you checked the voltages in the BIOS or with software monitoring under load?

no frills effort, less than year old. Seems ok in BIOS, don't use monitoring software LCD in case gives me my temps... I'll go get something to check with

Buzzing chriping like? might be your motherboard or both, may just be coil hum/resonation thats quite normal with some boards.
