PSU switch an easy job?

Hello there, recently purchased a PC the powersupply inside isn't great and I would like to change it I have a superflower golden green 550w installed in my bitfenix prodigy case and I am thinking of changing the one in my new pc with that, another question is what difference will upgrading the psu have? Sorry a bit of a noob it's just I bought dragon age inquisition and it can barely run in in low settings the computer has nvidia gtx 750ti graphics, GA b85 hd3 motherboard, i7 processor, 16gb ram, 3tb hardrive is the bad psu holding me back in anyway? Help would be appreciate thankyou,

Yeah a new gpu sounds good do you know of any decent cards for around £150 where I can play games in high/ultra? Current resolution is 1024x768, 59Hz I am playing on my 43" plasma because I don't have a desk or monitor at the moment. Not sure if the computer has an SSD and it has the Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz thanks,

I was thinking the same thing maybe I don't have it setup correct, what could I have done wrong when setting it up if you, if you have any suggestions I would appreciate it, thanks.
 
Is it possibly something to do with me installing 64bit instead of 32bit I didn't know which one to pick because I had no clue but from what I remember on previous pc's it was always 64
 
I have no idea why but maybe someone could explain this to me, I was using my 43" plasma trying to play dragon age inquisition it would barely handle it in low graphics things glitching and moving slow, found an old 21" Samsung monitor which I thought was broken turns out it was just the power cable so used the one that came with my superflower psu and it powered up and now I can run dragon age in ultra very smooth and responsive?
 
I think your right, when i was playing it through my 43" plasma i used a gioteck hdmi cable only which connected from the tv to the motherboard this time the 21" monitor is connected to the graphics card so yeah sorry guys i guess this is a newbie mistake? thanks,
