PSU Tester

Hi all,

I have a PSU that I used only a few times before and then boxed up a year or so ago when I upgraded my machine further.

It's a Corsair HX 1000W, which I now want to sell.

However, I'd like to test it fully before selling. Are there PSU Testing devices that I can use on this PSU without having to install it inside a full PC?

But does it test all voltage levels? I want to pressure test it fully.

You could stress test your PC with Prime and Furmark running together to get a full load and check voltages with a multimeter.

Just re-read your op

Without installing all you can do is the above to start the PSU and check the rails with a meter.

You might be able to power the PSU on and put a load on the PSU with resistors. Never done it before, so couldn't say how.

A machine to stress test a PSU with a "fake" load costs LOTS of money.. upwards of £5K
