So during the last year or two I`ve had about 10 GPU-s all coilwhine like crazy. ( uncapped fps @ 144hz monitor ) ( but if I cap fps @ 60 coilwhine is gone, well its not gone but it`s so quiet I can barely hear it if I put my ear next to the card )
My PSU is EVGA G2 750W, wich should be a decent PSU, but as coilwhine is the loudest part of my build I hate it, and would like to get rid of it, I have even tried, other PSUs, but the coilwhine is still there, some people say they never have coilwhine, but I am more inclined to belive they cant hear it.
But as an owner of an open air case, it`s very annoying to say the least.
Do I really have to order 5 powersupplies online, test them all, and return em, if it doesnt help ?

I`ve thought about seasonic prime gold/plat/titanium, 650W model should do, wich bring another problem, if I go too low on the wattage, the fan on the PSU will spin, and these are not quiet.
Most decent PSUs have semi passive fans these days, and with enought headroom on the wattage, it will never spin, on my current EVGA G2 750W I have only seen it start a few time but it will turn off as fast as it started )

That's because capping fps lowers power consumption of GPU and VRM in card isn't stressed as much reducing amount of coil whine.
Interaction with power supply can also change its amount.
But switching regulators work with pulsed current which is the cause of coil whine so risk of audible coil whine is always there.
Remember that next time when gettting case isolating noise as well as bucket without bottom holds water.
