Just bought a sapphire vapour-x 7970 which has two 8 pin pci connectors to power it.

The GPU comes bundled with molex to 8 pin adaptors, but i dont really want to use these as I've read that this is not a great option.

My PSU is a Corsair HX650w modular unit with 2 x 6 pin pci connectors on it.

I was thinking of using my existing pci cable with 2 x 6-8 pin adaptors, but wasn't sure if this would provide enough juice?

Ideally i dont want to buy a new psu

thanks

Try it and see. I think it will be fine. Either way you won't do any damage.

This seems to be happening a lot, those Corsair HX6xx PSUs were very popular and last a long time.

Just use the 6-to-8pin cables that come with the card.
