Psu upgrade for my motherboard

Hi all,

I have a As rock p55 pro with a CIT Active85 500w powersupply. Model number ATV500W

I have just ordered matching Crucial Ram so i can install 16gb (4gb sticks) instead of the 10gb that is installed which are not matching (1x4gb) (3x 2gb Corsair xms3)

Graphics card is a geforce gtx 770

Also ordered a Crucial mx500 1tb ssd.

Someone told me before the psu is really crap and i should upgrade it, What can i upgrade to? Or is there no need?

thank you. i will check the ones you mentioned out, will most likely upgrade pc in the future so wanting something to use in the future on the new build.

yeah guess it is fine. I think out of boredom i just started tinkering with pc lol. Yesterday i was looking at the cooler make to see if i could put a better one on. (akasa freedom tower cooler)

Just waiting for ssd to arrive and then attempt to install that. Memory arrived other day so it's now 16gb from 10gb, can't tell any difference lol and then last night i started googling overclocking but will probably mess something up.

It used to be fast before but then after installing games, vehicle diagnostics and loads of other court documents/bundles etc it seems to have gone slow.

When i get ssd what should i move on to it? Main thing i wanted to improve was boot loading times as now when it loads it takes a few minutes for it to settle before i can open anything.

so currently i have used around 500gb out of 1tb on my hard drive in total

so ideally i should move everything on to ssd and have an empty 1tb hard drive

So ssd arrived but the seller forgot to send me a cable, i had an old dell optiplex which i checked and found a cable that fits, will it work? or do i need a different cable?

Don't know how to attach pics on this, its a blue cable one end fits on the ssd on the small connector the other side says serial ata on the housing.

thank you, it did have the same cable coming out of power supply, all working.

Next step is figuring out how to move windows on to ssd

i think i need a better cable. did a test on userbenchmark and it says relative performance 0% percentile. Ensure that the drive is connected to a sata 3.0 port with a sata 3m0 cable

bench shows terrible 6.58% lol

i have downloaded crystaldiskinfo, what do i need to look for on it?
Shows harddrive as good, temp 25c
and ssd as good 99% temp 24c

thank you for all your help, i used crucials software to clone the hard drive, after it cloned it said to unplug my hard drive from my pc but obviously i want to keep it. I thought i would have to go in bios and select ssd as boot drive but it seems to have changed it byitself.

shall i now reformat my hard drive so its empty?

so far so good all is working well. Only issue after cloning was graphics card was showing as disabled due to some error. I deleted it and reinstalled drivers and its all fine. Booting up much faster now.

Now looking at power supplies. Someone is selling one local to me corsa cx750m semi modular with cables. Will this work with my motherboard?

Might just get it for time being and then upgrade the graphics card

Yes, but, if I remember right, the CXM PSUs are rather inconsistent quality depending on which model you get. Personally, I'd try to buy something new with a long-term warranty (10 yr), since a decent PSU can last you several builds.

or i have seen evga 850 80plus gold fully modular. If that works with my motherboard i will be able to use it on future build

Can you really not afford a new one? Of all the things to buy used, a used PSU would be the last thing I'd buy.

so bought a new 750 bequiet psu, waiting for it to be delivered.
ive also seen a gtx 1060 6gb, just wondering if any gtx 1060 will work as i noticed some have one fan, some have two. the one ive seen has gigabyte written on the fans, others have evga or msi. whats the difference?
