As thread title really.

Im currently using a Corsair HX 620 PSU which has served me well for a good few years now. It has powered a few systems but each has only had a graphics card requiring 2x 6pin PCIe connectors. 8800GTS/GTX260

With the imminent release of the new ATI cards and a sizeable Christmas bonus burning a hole in my pockets im going to treat myself to a 6970. Only question is will this PSU cope ok with a 6970?

As far as I can tell the PSU only has 2x6 pin PCIe connectors and has no 8 pin connectors.

Will i need to shell out for a new PSU or will I be able to make do with an adapter for the 8pin PCIe required for the 6970? If so where can I buy an adapter?

If im going to have to upgrade the PSU then I will likely go for a https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-018-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084

Thoughts/Suggestions?

PSU will be fine, if the 6970 needs a 8pin connector as well as a 6pin, then I am sure a suitable adapter will be supplied with the card.

Thats the first one I seen, my 480 Gainward did not, just a case looking at the manufacturers website and seeing the extras.
