My current Spec is in my sig, and as you can see I'm running a Hiper (Oh dear...)

It sounds like the fan ball bearing has dislodged, but I've had this PC for over 1.5 years, and I'm slightly worried about the Hiper's track record so looking to replace it (not taking any chances with the rest of my PC).

As a student saving to go off travelling, my budget is relatively tight, but as I know the PSU is a vital component, I can probably spare £70-80.

I was looking to get a Corsair, but are the modular significantly more reliable, or do you pay solely for the ease of use, also are there any other brands I should be looking at?

P.S. a quiet PSU is neccessary, but not ultra silent etc.

Cheers!

Its over the top, but I would get a Corsair HX520 Modular. They are about £70 so within budget and are whisper quiet, reliable and have a 5 year warranty.

Caught it too late, pretty much the second after I posted and I was powering it down when boom...

I hope it hasn't taken out any components, but if it has it's my own fault for not having the sense to shut it down ASAP. (On 7 year old PC atm)

Good news, the components all seem to be fine, I powered it up with a 350W PSU (using an old GFX card instead as it wouldn't power the 8800) and it started up and got into Windows.

Am going to order a Corsair 650TX after reading the reviews which put it almost on par with the 620HX (and a lot cheaper). Hopefully it should be slightly more future proof too. (not worried about it not being modular)

Thanks for the help.
