PSU Upgrade

Hey OcUK'ers,

My GTX480 came today, quicker than expected, now I need to buy myself a new PSU in order to power the damn thing.

I currently have a 520W CoolerMaster and I'm wondering what to get, I've been thinking of getting http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-193-CM just because I want to ensure I'm protected with future proofing, especially if I upgrade my mobo and go SLi with another GTX480.

Anything better for cheaper or in need of less wattage?

It seems about right, I'm not sure you can find really cheaper for that power

I take that that will be enough for any other upgrades I do for a long while, including another GTX480

There is better for a bit more money (& 50 more watts on the 12 volt rail)

But 4x40 amps on the 10v rail as opposed to a single 66 amp 12v rail on the coolermaster.

I've been told that amps on the 12V rail is king when it comes to powering a juicy card like the 480, so I know where my money would go.

that why get a new one at all?
the money will be better on the bank lol. then what you do upgrade the board and CPU you can get more ram or what ever.

depending on the model of your CoolerMaster 520W Modular it will take sli

although that Cooler Master Silent Pro Modular 850W is a sweet looking PSU from the listing info so if you must get a new one it look's a nice one to get

Well, I need a new one because I just got a GTX480, it says I need a minimum of 600W, and everyone on the Overclockers forums I've seen agree's with that minimum.

they always give head room when estimating power there as been ppl using GTX cards with 320w PSU's but as you say better safe than sorry
