Well my PSU decided to go Pop earlier this week, so i've duly purchased a new psu, problem is now my pc will not boot.

there seems to be power going to motherboard (Asus P5N-E SLI) as there is a green led that lights up. However the hitting the power button does nothing.

Is the motherboard dead, does anyone know how i can test it?

Would other component be wrecked how can i test them without access to another system?

thanks in advance

My P5NE-SLI spontaneously dided, powered on though no BIOS on screen, gave up on that mobo and got an Asus £40 mATX board that works fine!

I've had this problem before - same symptons, Mobo light comes up etc - Most likely case is the new PSU isn't giving out enough power

What are your specs?

Also.. Try using the jumpers to start the PC, or check the power button cabling to make sure it's connected properly

the new psu is more powerful at 600w that my old one 550w.

i did suspect that the button cabling had come loose, so resat all the internal connector jumpers.

how di you solve your issue yarwood?

i'll try jumpers to start the pc, if i can find it!

Might not be enough amps being outputted from the PSU, have you got a link to the one you bought + your pc spec?

Where the button power cable is from the case to mobo, try using something conductive to start it there.
