So i was moving my pc to a new case and build a fully modular corsair psu from warehouse deals on amazon...and attached it all, turned it on, went b00m like a firework. Is it my fault or...? the cables werent in the right slots? IM sure they were,

What PSU?

Corsair CP-9020054-UK RM Series RM650 80 Plus Gold 650W ATX/EPS Fully Modular Power Supply Unit
It's got good reviews, and I hooked my old psu to the pc it's fine, not sure why this went off..surely unsafe to try it again? Should i claim a refund from amazon..but what do i say? the truth or..?

DOEs it matter if i used my own power plug from my old psu..because apparently the one for the psu wasnt in the box when i bought it..can that be the cause of the loud bang?

No. The loud bang was a fault inside the power supply assuming that you plugged in everything correctly.

Talk to the retailer and get a refund/replacement.

I see no wrong way of connecting the wrong cables into the PSu, they all have their numbered pins for each end.. amazon were supposed to pick it up today but didnt arrive -.-

Why wasn't the PSU tested before putting it altogether? Those little jumper starters are cheap if one really needed those. Testing some fans or such with it.

I agree, plugging the 24pin, EPS, and peripheral cables to the PSU is pretty straight forward. It's almost impossible to connect them to the wrong port on the PSU. You made the right move, get that unit replaced.

No, just get a refund. The RMi/x units are supposed to be much better

Both are great PSU, but RMx would be the practical choice if you don't need Corsair Link ;)
