Hello, i posted a topic a few weeks ago about my PSU making a really high pitched noise when it was turned off one night, it was coming from the Hiper Type-R 580w PSU.

So anyway, a couple of weeks went by and the noise seemed to stop, then one day i got back from work and turned my PC on, and it seemed like everything was at half power, the fans were going half speed, the HDD was constantly clicking as if it wasnt getting enough power. So i tried loads of things and nothing worked,

ended up buying a new PSU and now its fine, is there any reason why this would happen? or was it just a dodgy PSU?

Thanks

When i brought a Hiper 500W psu a while back, mine just started putting out less power and the rails were way lower then they should be.

Hipers seem to do this for some people, me being one of them, avoided them since and not had another die on me yet.

Thank your lucky stars it didnt blow up and take some hardware with it. Luckily i didnt lose any other hardware either, so thank hiper for making psu's that just slowly die rather then blow up.... :D
