Hi,

My PSU (Seasonic 760) went pop today (scared the life out of me) and I need a new one. I checked it was 10 years old.

Please can you recommend one to me?

If I can future proof then that is better.

Budget: £150-£250.

Ryzen 3900x (not overclocked). Gigabyte Ultra x570 motherboard. AMD 6700 Graphics card.

Should I get the newer ATX 3.0? Are they compatible with the above?

Thanks

Not an x-series was it? if it was it certainly lasted longer than mine (a 560 watter):p

To be fair that was the only Seasonic that failed on me. If you were happy with that one I'd get another. The Vertex is Seasonics latest PSU & its ATX 3.0. the 850watter is @OCUK for 200 notes. It's backwards compatible.
:)

It was a Seasonic P-760 SS-760XP2 - an older model.

I'm thinking of getting the Seasonic Vertex 850 - hopefully it's going to last a long time.

Quick question.

Will I be able to use the same cables on the new Seasonic PSU or is it best to use the new ones?

It will save me time/effort if I can.

I installed the new PSU and all up and running - thankfully no damage to components/data.

I've noticed that the old power lead is not working.

Could it have been just the power lead dying and would that have caused the loud bang sound?

Any ideas?
