PSU Wire Gauge

What Gauge wire is the PSU cable ? like the 24-pin ATX and the 6/9 Pin PCI-E power cables as I would like to extend mine.

18 AWG for most cables on the 24 way, a few are 20 AWG. On other cables they are 18 AWG. Fan cables are 24AWG normally but will be thicker on super fast fans. I've heard some 6 pin or 8 pin are 16 AWG but that seems a bit thick and causes problems with termination.
