PSU with fan at the bottom in an Antec P110 case?

My shiny new PSU is one of those with the fan on the bottom side. I've got a new ancient Antec server case where the PSU compartment is at the bottom of the case, so the way the PSU fits in it, the fan is pointed downwards:

As you can just about see, the PSU is resting on metal brackets, so the fan grille isn't blocked in any way. However, there's only about 2cm clearance between the fan grille and the bottom of the case! Will my PSU get enough airflow? I've got a case intake fan pointing right at it, but I'm still worried.

Slightly better view of the clearance.

I know you can't see the fan but the bracket it's resting on is pretty narrow so the intake isn't blocked I'm only concerned about the small clearance between it and the bottom of the case.

Seems like either way (fan facing up/down) will work just fine here, given that the intake fan next to it will feed it cool air. The second photo shows enough room beneath the PSU for cool air to get under and get sucked in (once the case is sealed again). I'd leave it facing down.

The reason the gap is there is exactly for air flow into the PSU, cold air from the bottom of the case is better than hot air from the centre of the case.

If it was fan face up heat would escape into the PC as the fan isn't fast enough to counter thermal dynamics. The PSU is designed to work fan down so the fan speed is set for that purpose.

Also you won't have dust falling on to the fan. :)

Cool cool, I thought so but it never hurts to check :) I confess however that the air the intake fan will be blowing at the PSU won't exactly be cool as I have 2 HDDs in front of it as well, so it'll mostly be getting stale pre-warmed air... :p I don't think it'll make a massive difference though, according to Speedfan the drives don't get THAT hot, so it'll probably be fine.

More photos of the case might be forthcoming when I'm done but I recommend you go find the Antec P110 owners' thread on here for much neater cases than mine if you're really curious about it :p

The heat from the HDDs is low and the PSU case will deflect that up and over rather than under as heat rises. :)

I've had my P182 for 7 years now and it had a Seasonic PSU for 5 years running 24/7 till it died (fan died and I didn't notice ^^) so it cooked during a gaming session. (The seasonic was 6 years+ old pre dating the case)

I was amazed how clean is was, pretty much dust free inside. :O
