Hi guys Im currently running a matx pc and the only noise Im getting is off the corsair cx600m fan,Is there a fairly cheap 500 to 600w semi modular with an option to disable the fan or has an ECO switch

The Corsair RM series fan doesn't even spin until high load and even then it's a quiet fan, so they have considerably put some focus on improving sound levels with their latest ranges.

That would be my next choice, I will see how I go with the 550w xfx if no good then a corsair RM it will be

I've bought a week ago XFX 1250W Black Edition Pro '80+ Gold'.
Hybrid mode is a joke.Fan is coming on/off every 2-3 minutes.
They claim the noise it produce is 16dBA.
I had before BeQuiet DarkPro P10 750W-and compare to XFX this psu is silent.
20-50% load range only 11.2 dBA,Fan is always on but you can hear it at all.
Go for bequiet dark pro, best psu I ever had(seasonic x560W was the same class)

Dont get a corsair RM series, get a SF leadex 650w,fully modular, cheaper than the corsair, better quality than the corsair.I have 750w fan never turns on unless under prolonged max gpu/cpu load

I'm currently using the Leadex 1200w in my main pc and to be honest I've never heard the fan, I'm going to give the XFX a go or just go for a Leadex lol

Does the 650W have the eco switch?

if your happy with the psu you have (except the fan noise)
you could save your self some cash and hassle by replacing the offending fan

Will do,standard feature of the Leadex range of PSU's.I was actually using a cx600m myself before switching to the SF,Noise levels were night and day between them.Aswell as the heat, after some gaming the Corsair would become extremely warm to the touch, the SF is cool to the touch.

I have a Corsair RM 650W.. The fan doesn't kick in until 40% load so it's silent unless i'm doing anything that strains my system. Great for watching TV etc as I don't have much power draw then.

Hi Lee got the XFX for £72 which is not bad and is a good spec psu

It should be a solid PSU as it is based off the Seasonic G series. My own XFX psu which doesn't have hybrid fan mode is pretty quiet. I have the 750W Bronze semi modular unit.

I took the plunge and bought the Superflower Leadex 650W gold I really should have done my homework before rushing in and buying the XFX typical me, cheers for all the help guys :)
