Hi,

I just upgraded my system with a Gigabyte Z79X-SLI Mobo and an I5 4690K Devils Canyon.

I also have a Coolermaster RealPower 700W Modular PSU - SLI Ready, after I had done the build I had a few weird problems firstly powering the machine up it would start up for a second, power down , restart in a loop and not get to post. Removing the reset connector from the header fixed this and I assumed there was an issue with the reset button.

The machine is fine it is stable however on a few occasions when shutting down it starts powering off the peripherals and on 3 occasions in the last 5 days there has been a constant clicking at the final stages i.e. it has gone from the Windows 8 blue screen to a black screen and it won't shut down until I manually hold the power button.

I have found this article:

http://techreport.com/review/24897/the-big-haswell-psu-compatibility-list

And see my PSU is not listed there, does this sound like the cause of my issue and do you think a new PSU will solve it.

Ive had this issue, on a bespoke server build using a OCZ 750W PSU
The problem is literally down to lack of load on the PSU.
Disabling the low power states on the cpu helps, as it keeps more of a load on the PSU.
The way I cured mine was to buy a 47 ohm 10 Watt power resistor and connect it across 12volt and ground.
This puts a constant ~4 Watts load on the PSU.
The system now has no problems with randomly switching off. Costs approx £4.00 a year more to run but hey ho :)
