PSU woes

I have recently set up an additional computer in the same room as my gaming rig (for Bitcoin). I have just been woken up by it going BANG (breaker flipped as well). :(

It is (was) a Super Flower 1KW gold unit, running 3 280Xs and the cheapest Intel CPU I could find.

What should I do? Is it dead? There aren't really any other options for re-locating the computer but if the mains supply to this room is inadequate I need to know.

Have you checked all your components for any burn marks or have you smelled anything, when an electrical component goes bang, you can usually smell it.
Did you check to see if the Psu was hot. Check the fuse on the plug.
Was it plugged into a surge protector?

Was it plugged into a surge protector?

Did a quick scan for visible signs of damage (found none), but haven't checked extensively for burn marks.

Didn't smell anything.

Didn't think to check if it was hot, will check the fuse on the plug.

It is plugged into a surge protector, yep. (Belkin one with LED indicators and on/off switch)

Hopefully with the surge protection and the safety features in the Psu, your components should be fine.
Sounds like it could be a fuse, check the plug on the Belkin.
What else is on the same electrical circuit?

Is it safe to try plugging it in on a different circuit or is it just dead now?

I'm curious what actually made the bang noise, I don't know much about electrical stuff but it seems like something would have had to "blow up" for a noise like that.

There`s only one way to find out, plug it in and see what happens.
I would remove the Gpus, see if it boots up and then add the cards.

I have been too afraid to even touch it until today, when I picked it up I heard something loose rattling around inside... upon closer inspection they appeared to be little bits of black material (plastic?). Looks like I have no choice but to RMA? This is weird because I just got it as a replacement a few days ago...
