My friend has computer with the following specs:

CPU
AMD Phenom II X6 1035T 21 °C
Thuban 45nm Technology

RAM
6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24)

Motherboard
FOXCONN 2AA9 (CPU 1) 36 °C

Graphics
HP S2331 (1920x1080@60Hz)
ATI Radeon HD 5570

Now that is all fine and dandy except for his PSU of which we have recently discovered he is only using a 300W PSU. Should he be concerned?

It should be fine, but it does depend upon it's make and model, PSU Efficiency, peak and continuous output power etc...

CPU - 95W Maximum, Graphics - 27W Maximum, then the motherboard and memory will only use around 25W.

Always put money into a good PSU. It can end up saving you a lot more in the long run! Tbh I have never understood why people are willing to spend big on Gpu's/Cpu's etc but then get a budget PSU.

Because they don't know the the drawbacks of having a budget PSU. The PSU was the most expensive thing in my gaming rig, Corsair HX Modular 620W, payed £120 for it when it was out.

Still going on strong, 80+ efficiency, 5 year warranty.
