PSU

Im gonna order a new PSU today with a £90-100 Budget to power the spec in my sig +

4x 80mm Fans
2x UV lights
2x Blue Cath's
1 DVD Drive
1 Flop
and a few usb's mouse etc..

I was looking @ Hiper HPU-4K580-MK Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU - Red UV.

Read a good review from 3DGameMan. But other then that, have you had any good/bad experiances with this product? or similar, OR would u advise me on a whole new type of PSU ?

I've just bought and installed an Enermax Liberty 500W PSU. Gets good reviews and looks like a quality bit of kit. Time will tell.....but you get three yrs warranty.

Big names to look out for are Seasonic, FSP, Tagan.

For the record, I would not buy a Hiper because they seem unreliable for some people (they also look cheap and tacky IMO).

I'm sure other people get on just fine with their Hipers, but I would rather stay away from them.

OCZ ModStream 520W Modular PSU *

It has a 28a rating on the 12v rail... just what i need me thinks

Its also a single rail which will be better to power my card / future cards, right?

The Enermax has 32A on the 12v, if I'm not mistaken..

Most of the high end Enermax only have 22a on 12v, and its split rails aswell

22+22 no? My 485W has 18+18A on the 2 rails.

There is around 8 types of enermax PSU's .... im just saying roughly. sorry

I'm pretty sure a 500W Liberty has more than 22A on the 12v. Even the old ATX1.3s had high 12V amps...

According to website Enermax 500 has 22 amps on each of the two 12 volt rails.

You do realise both 12v rails work simultaneously? (theoretically giving 44A)

One is dedicated to the motherboard and CPU, the other is for drives, and graphics.
