I am building a new system and have the following

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L Intel P35
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB
Samsung SpinPoint F1 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
Samsung SH-S202J/BEBE 20x DVD±RW
Antec P182 Super Midi Tower Case
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

The only thing I need to spec is a PSU, I am thinking about the Enermax Pro 82+ 625W EPR625AWT ATX2.3 Silent PSU.

Will this work ok with the above and should I look at the modular one or not.

Any other thoughts regarding the above spec, suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

That PSU would be fine, slightly overkill perhaps since you'd easily get away with something in the 500w+ range but no real harm in it.

It might be worth looking into P45 based motherboards as they aren't much more expensive but are supposed to be even better for overclocking.

Thanks for the responses, I picked the Enermax as its supposed to be one of the quietest. But will have a look at your suggestions.

Is there any particular P45 motherboards that you can suggest, cheers.

I've got this mobo and it should let you squeeze anything up to 3.6ghz without bigger problems. Anyways, I think you could go with better cooling like Tuniq Tower if you want to get this high ;).

From my personal experience I would advise considering x38 mobo for future crossfire.
It's extra 50quid but I think you will want 2nd GPU pretty soon ;).
