Building this spec:

Q6600
4gb pc8500 dominator
HD4870
asus p5q-e
2hdd's
etc etc

i'm unsure of what psu to get, taking in mind, i might upgrade to a q9550 later in 09.
thoughts?

I'm pretty stuck on the Corsair series.. Pretty reliable and sturdy... or the Be quite dark power pro 650w..

yeah was thinking corsair, but would the 650w be plentyful?

Anything above 450 will be plenty for this spec.
I, myself, would recommend Thermaltake ToughPower series, great value for price, better than corsair imho.

Anything much above 500W will have problems in avoiding being below 80% efficient most of the time. (for normal people gaming represents only small part of PC's "up" time)

Peak draw isn't even 300W and newer tech Q9550 is less hungry.
