Whilst im back on the forum.. (been awhile and old account vanished :/)

Looking to upgrade ma PSU soon ....

Intel E6500 Duo
Abit IP35-e
GeiL DDR2 800mhz ram
Nvidia 450GTS
2 hard drives standard 8000 rpm seagate
One optical drive

Anyone recommend a decent PSU to power that? Preferably modular because i have a cheap and compact case...

The new Corsair CX range aren't quite as good as their older CX range and they are not 80 Plus. Nothing massively wrong with them but they aren't to be put on a pedestal like their old CX400. Plus they aren't modular.

It often strikes me as odd that the PSU is an over looked part of a PC. People often spend an extra £50 on another component and down grade their power supply.

I would say get yourself a decent PSU. If you can live without modular PSU then http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-008-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1084. If you really want modular go for the HX range.
