Modular (Or semi modular) means it has detachable cables.

Fully modular unit: All cables are removeable (Unpluggable) from the unit.

Semi modular: All cables are removeable, apart from a few hardwired ones such as the 24 pin/8 pin and usually 1 x pci-e.

Non modular: All the cables are hardwired into the unit.

ok still not sure what that means as such but I get what your saying will it work an be compatible

you'll need to remove the competitors link.

but the G7 780W PSU is utter garbage my sister in law thought she was doing well and bought one of these.. it went pop and took out half her components

in layman's terms it means if you have a cable thats not in use it can be removed so you can get a far better cable management in the system as you'll have less cables as you only have the ones in there that you need.

sorry about that didn't know about link but thanks for the layman's terms that's all I need to know.
So the only difference on the 2 I listed was the warranty just want best for money that will run a really high spec card at some point thanks

Pictures can describe it better :)

Fully Modular (You plug in only the cables you need):

Semi Modular (Same as above, but the 24 pin M/B on this is hardwired into the unit) :

Non Modular (All cables are hardwired in, so you can't remove any that are not needed):

Thanks but I cant see any pictures maybe not been here long enough to have the rights to see stuff not sure

Strange that you can't see them. Anyhow here are some from ocuk page instead.

Fully Modular:

If you click on the bottom left pic it shows the psu housing where you plug the cables into. You only plug in the cables that you need.

Semi Modular:

Click on the 2nd pic down on the right. Same concept as the fully modular except the main 24 pin on this unit is hardwired into the psu. All the other cables are removeable.

Non Modular:

Bottom left pic shows that all the cables are hardwired into the unit. You can't remove any unused cables on this type of unit.
